SESSION 1: keynote & workshop 

Making Numbers Count in K-12 Finance

This workshop is designed to help you translate ed finance data into clear and memorable messages. (Being able to communicate budget numbers and processes into plain language by using compelling, universally-understandable metaphors is a really fun superpower!)

Join us for a workshop with Karla Starr, expert in data storytelling and communication. This workshop is designed to teach participants how to communicate K-12 finance data in an engaging, understandable, and actionable way. You'll learn a 4-part framework behind the art and science of communicating about numbers and put theory to practice in the exclusive Making Numbers Count workbook.  

SESSION 2: presentation + Q&A

Cracking (Account) Codes for Colleagues

If something in a school district involves money, it comes through accounting. Newsflash: everything involves money. In this session, we focus on specific ways that districts have strengthened internal communication and collaboration around financial operations.

SESSION 3: presentation + Q&A

Managing Change

Learning how to tell your district’s financial story requires change, and change can be challenging. This session explores change management (specifically the Lippitt-Knoster Model), a systematic approach to the transformation of an organization’s goals, processes, or technologies.

SESSION 4: PANEL DISCUSSION

Course-Correcting with New Data

The Allovue Education Finance Survey is a non-partisan resource to help district leaders start conversations about school funding, budgets, and spending. Dig into new data (and common misconceptions) to debunk and rewrite “clicky headline” education tropes.
